Visitor comments

The visitor comments facility is activated by adding an ampersand symbol & to the first line of each page (somewhere after the standard # symbol) and remains invisible – the first line activates functions only. A form will appear at the bottom of the page (see below). By completing and submitting the form a visitor sends an email to the site administrator containing their name, email address and their comment.

The administrator can open 'Get comments' and add the comment manually. Comments do not appear automatically. This provides a simple moderation system.

Spam can be filtered to a degree by using 'stopwords' activated in admin/setup. If spam is received via the commenting form (or the contact page) it can be controlled by adding words to a 'stopwords' form in admin. If a form contains a stopword, the email to admin will not be sent.

Example stopwords (one per line):

rankings
seo
engines
keywords
freelance
marketer
sex
http
https
bitcoin

To close comments after comments have been posted, add ^&^ to the final comment – ^&^ won't be displayed. A notice will appear saying "comments are closed."
